Fraud in the Pulpit

In the Bible, Jesus himself warned that false prophets, shall come in his name, dressed in clothing of sheep but within, they are ravenous wolves. He made it clear when he said not everyone that said Lord; Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. But most of all he warned that those prophets shall perform many miraculous things in His (Jesus) name but they will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Today we are living in a world where unscrupulous and ungodly men, recognized what the white colonialist recognized centuries ago. That the bible used correctly can make slaves and or idiots out of strong and sensible people of every culture, age, ethnicity, and race. And so recognizing such these men took the opportunity to become pastors for all or one of the following reason:

  • Become important and hold sway over many
  • An opportunity to amass tremendous wealth at the expense of the people’s poverty
  • For the opportunity to be accepted in a class that they otherwise would not have been able to associate with.

Gone are the days when men of the cloth or of the ministry, were men who honestly believed that there is a God and behaved like such.

Today the devil uses greed and the passion of the flesh as the primary motivator to get the men in the ministry to do his buddings, which are to lead Jehovah’s children on a un-obstructive journey into the pits of hell. It is clear that those doing the Devil’s bidding are only concern about their own glory and wealth at any expense.

However it is the responsibility of those Jehovah/God fearing people in the congregation to stand up for Jesus; unfortunately there are not much strong men who are able to recognized that something is wrong and has the ability to articulate that known error. When such earnest disciples recognized such errors and take a stand for the truth, they are labeled as instrument of the devil, haters of Jehovah etc.

Case in point, on Saturday 4th April 2009, I witnessed with my own eyes and heard with my ears the intentional perpetration of a fraud with the intention of swindling members of the unsuspecting congregation out of their up coming tax refund all in the name of the love of Jesus and loyalty to Jehovah.

Any individual that is called by Jehovah’s name or who has the faith in Jesus will attempt to do all in their power to be obedient to the word of Jehovah. But they ought to be wise and when Jehovah blesses us with wisdom, he expect us as his disciples to use such wisdom for the protection of his flock. At times, God flock need to be protected from bad Shepard and other wolfs that blend into the flock disguised as sheep.

Malachi 2: 7+8 "For the priest lips should keep knowledge and they (the people) should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of host. But ye (the priest) have departed out of the way; ye have cause many to stumble at the law; you have corrupted the covenant of the Levi said the lord."

Malachi: 3: 5 "said among other things I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterer, the liars and those who oppresses the poor (namely the widows and the fatherless) out of their pay."

How can men who are called by Jehovah’s name, look intelligent and wise people in their eyes and try to convert or change those people into fools. By now you must be asking what is he speaking of.

On the Sabbath in question; I was left in shock when a professed Seventh Day Adventist, conference appointed pastor, on the Sabbath Day, (Jehovah's holy day) speaking from Jehovah’s holy pulpit, and speaking to Jehovah’s people and after many debate declared to those who was listening, that the Tax return is an increase and more so loans of all types are increases, and thus Jehovah expect those people to return tithe and offering from the monies. May the Lord have mercy on those people who lie to their congregation on Jehovah’s Sabbath, in Jehovah's name and from Jehovah’s pulpit! What can be low than that.

Let us take a common sense view of some common principle. We must always bear in mind that Jehovah’s words are easy to understand and it is so written that even an individual with little or no education can learn from it.

It is accepted that Jehovah is the creator of this earth and he has entrusted us with the care of the world. It is no secret that Jehovah has given us certain basic rules; if follow, will ensure that this world will run in harmony. The primary of these laws are the Ten Commandments. There are also the laws that govern diet, cohabitation as is found in Leviticus etc. but the command that seems to provoke the most animosity is the tithe command.

This is not so without a cause. And it all boils down to the love of money which is the root of all evil. The people who were entrusted to manage Jehovah’s tithe have become greedy. Motivated by greed, they lie and thus place unnecessary burden of Jehovah’s people.

Let us deal with the issue of the income tax refund and then student or other loans. I accept the fact that we ought to return a tithe on our increase. Each time we have any significant measurable increase we ought to return a tithe on that. That means anything that we have not yet pay a tithe on. Let us do some basic math and we will begin with the taxes and make our way to the issue of loan.

What is Tax (Income Tax)?

First we must take some time to examine what is a tax. A tax is a country, state and or a city means of accumulating funds to ensure that they can provide the basic necessaries that is needed to ensure the basic structure of civility are in placed. For example the police to ensure that law and order are maintained, there are infrastructures to ensure life and commerce continue uninterrupted etc.

Each one are called upon to contribute for the facilities that the Government provide. And such contribution come in the tax we pay on goods and service but more so each time we gain an income or salary.

What is a Tax Refund?

A tax refund is monies that the Government return to the tax payer who after meticulous calculation discover that an individual had paid more tax than they should have paid. And thus the Government is obligated to return to the tax payer the excess money they took.

Say for example an individual is paid a salary $10.00 a month or $120.00 a year and the government calculation resulted in they deducting the sum of $30.00 as income tax from that persons salary. Now when that individual submit his income tax return form with supporting evidence of their expenditure etc. the government realize after the calculation, that particular individual should have paid $15.00 in tax, then the government is obligated to ensure that individual get back a sum of $15.00.

Now the big question is, did that individual had an increase. No that individual did not received an increase. Their yearly maximum salary is $120.00 but they earn net income of $105.00.

The unfortunate thing to this issue is that everyone will not be the beneficiary of a return. There are many people who will be plunged into debt because they did not pay enough tax. and thus the Government will expect that individual to repay those monies owing to them. Does the church look into the welfare of such people? I will not and I cannot answer this question with any level of certainty or accuracy but I will venture to say I have never heard of such. If you have ever heard of any such cases please let me know.

Unlike what is preach by most preachers; an individual is only obligated to Jehovah to return 10% of their increase and an offering. Jehovah is a God that cannot be bribed; you will not receive more blessing if you give double tithe or triple tithe. The bible said that Jehovah love a cheerful giver, but does he love one who ignore the hungry people in their neighborhood and give to the church. Well I don’t know; What I do know however is: when Jesus saw a need in the community he did not run to the temple for help he dealt with it right there and then.

Loans:

The question is, is a loan an increase:

No a loan is not an increase. A loan is money that must be repaid, and that money should be repaid with interest. Now the church is asking an individual to pay a tithe on the loan and you ought to pay a tithe on the salary from which you must repay the loan also.

So is a loan an increase? No it is not.

So why are the men and women in the ministry (preachers) using such method to get money. Why are they using the trust of the congregation to swindle the members out of their monies. If an individual love Jehovah God that individual will move as the spirit leads him or her. No pastor should have to resort to guilt trip and other psychological trickery to get the people to serve Jehovah or to get their monies.

They honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.

It is shameful the way the preachers of today are only concerned about money. The are afraid to address matters of important for the salvation of the people. They love to make their members feel guilty, it is all about being in control.
